Background

Opened in 1973, West Midland Safari Park is one of the UK's largest and most successful wildlife parks. Containing 600 animals from around 30 different worldwide species, the park is also home to rare and exotic animals, some of which are currently extinct in the wild. There is also an on-site amusement park boasting over 30 rides and attractions.

The Task

To create a TV, poster and radio campaign promoting 'Realm of the Lions': the exciting new lion attraction at the Safari Park.

Our Response

To give an immediate sense of the immense scale of the attraction, we produced a high definition 3-dimensional logo depicting a huge rock formation, carved and eroded into letter shapes and set in the centre of a savannah landscape. This was blended with live lion footage and finally a dramatic soundtrack and voice over added to give a truly epic feeling to the production.

Our rock formation logo was replicated in full scale as a central feature of the new reserve.

Working traditionally in the early stages of development, our concept design was easily refined and amended (even the name of the attraction was changed) before being constructed digitally for TV and print production.
